Aztec Vault & Cleopatra’s Vault Advantage Play Strategy

Manufacturer: Aristocrat

How the advantage works

Aztec Vault and its companion, Cleopatra’s Vault, have columns above the reels where coins with credit prizes are collected. When a column gets completely filled with coins, the player is awarded the credit prizes on the coins in that column. After any column is awarded, all of the coins on the board get cleared out.

Additional notes on Aztec Vault & Cleopatra’s Vault

  • One redeeming factor that makes this game not quite as risky as it may seem is that the column above the first reel (with a single coin holder) can only get a coin that is either 10x or 12x the bet size. The coins in the other reels can be as small as 2x the bet size. So if you have a bunch of coins built up in the other columns but get unlucky and trigger the first column, you will make back at least 10x your bet.

  • The game has a scrolling multiplier feature where a 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x or 25x multiplier will appear above the fifth column. Any coin that gets added to that column will get its credit value multiplied by the multiplier. The multipliers stay for three spins (there is an indicator with dots showing how many spins are remaining) and then roll down onto the next column. The scrolling multipliers get removed when a coin lands in that column or when they roll off the first column.

  • The rules say that the chance of the coins appearing on a reel depends on the number of positions already filled in the column above that reel. So this game is rigged to a certain extent, but it’s not nearly as bad as other rigged games like Cashman Bingo.

  • The free games feature differs between Aztec Vault and Cleopatra’s Vault, but the machines play the same for advantage purposes.

You can look directly on the bet pad to find potential plays—the blue coin is the mini and the red coin is the win-all.
