Money in the Bank Advantage Play Strategy

Manufacturer: Konami

How the advantage works

In Money in the Bank, coins with credit prizes on them randomly get “banked” and added to a counter on the bet pad. These banked credit prizes can be awarded during a hold and spin bonus. During each spin of the bonus, it may randomly “shake the bank”, which awards up to 75% of the bank, or else “break the bank”, which awards 100% of the bank. The portion of the bank that was awarded gets removed from the bank after the bonus.

Additional notes on Money in the Bank

  • Landing six or more coins will trigger the hold and spin bonus. It can also randomly trigger any time a coin lands.

  • At the end of the bonus, the bank decreases by the amount that was awarded during the shake the bank features. The minimum value for the bank is 5x the bet, so it will always reset to that at a minimum.

  • The bet levels go “on fire” with a glowing border on the bet bed when they reach 20x.

  • The shake the bank feature can be awarded multiple times during the same hold and spin bonus. After a shake, the banked amount goes back up to the amount it started the bonus with, so getting multiple shakes can award more than 100% of the bank. I’ve had bonuses before where the bank shook five times.

  • This is an extremely high variance game because it can take multiple hold and spin features before you trigger one with a shake. It’s not uncommon to get bad runs where you will go 7 or 8 features in a row without shaking the bank. Expect to take a big loss when this happens.

  • I know a lot of APs who have given up on this game after taking a few gigantic losses. But taking occasional huge losses is just part of playing uncapped progressives. If your bankroll cannot handle 1,000 unit swings, then you should skip this game.

  • This is an excellent game for card building. You can build a lot of points on a bad run and the freeplay can help with the loss.

  • The wild symbols ($$$) only appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

  • The hold and spin bonus can trigger just by itself (with no extra features), or with one pig or both pigs, which give enhanced features like extra spins or random prizes added to the coins.

  • The Bacon Blvd and Pay Out West themes have slightly different bonuses, but they play the same for advantage purposes.

  • Always pay careful attention to the denom you are on and how the credits are displayed on the bet pad. Once the denom reaches $1, the banked values are displayed in dollars rather than credits. And on the $2 denom, the bet is displayed in credits, but the banked value is in dollars, which can be confusing. Make sure to double check you have the correct denom and bet size selected on the calculator.
